A continuation of our Nothing Beats Being There platform for Expedia, built on the magic that happens when football and travel come together
We sent legendary players into fan zones to experience the UCL as they never had before – as fans themselves.
We also created an immersive room that recreated match days of UCL finals gone by, giving fans the closest possible feeling of being there.
For OOH, we built live scoreboards that updated in real time with each goal – but instead of listing goalscorers, they revealed different travel icons and landmarks from the city of the scoring team.
Planning for every eventuality meant a mammoth pre-approved spreadsheet of possible goal combinations. The media buy focused on airports, making the connection between football and travel feel immediate and relevant.
The end result was beautifully simple – one of my favourite pieces of work, and the perfect coming together of football and travel.
